Het Amstelhuis, de woongemeenschap voor ouderen aan de Amsteldijk, was goed vertegenwoordigd op de HvA onderwijsconferentie 2018 op 12 april.
In het ochtendprogramma kwamen in de introductiefilm over de visie van de Hogeschool van Amsterdam en dan met name bij het onderdeel samenwerking met de stad, al beelden voorbij van bewoners, studenten en medewerkers van het Amstelhuis.

In het middagprogramma vertelden studenten Ergotherapie over de samenwerking tussen het Amstelhuis en de HvA, waarin samen leren, samen ontwikkelen en samenwerken centraal staat. Met hun projecten over de introductie van nieuwe bewoners in het Amstelhuis en de ondersteuning van familie en mantelzorgers, dragen zij bij aan het realiseren van een vitale woonomgeving voor bewoners en het opbouwen van sociale netwerken. Zij vertelden over hun werkzaamheden om sociale netwerken van bewoners te helpen verstreken o.a. door de groep ‘Samen Actief’. Door het samenbrengen van bewoners en in gesprek te gaan met hen, kwamen bewoners op het idee om binnenkort samen naar een gratis lunchconcert in het concertgebouw te gaan.

Op deze wijze bouwen we samen aan de stad als leeromgeving, prettige woonomgeving voor ouderen en aan het toekomstgericht onderwijs.

The Amstelhuis functions both as a residential facility for senior citizens in Amsterdam and as an excellent practical environment for students, lecturers and researchers of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS).

On 21 March 2017, a policy meeting was held by Amstelhuis Cocon Vastgoed Zorg and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Central to this meeting was the subject “forms of housing for Turkish and Moroccan elderly people”.

Representatives of Cocon Vastgoed Zorg, professors and researchers from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and representatives from “Wijkadvies” (Community Advice) considered various forms of housing for these specific groups. This resulted in unique concepts and ideas, to serve as recommendations for Cocon Vastgoed Zorg:

• Create small housing units with 30 to 40 residents, two separate spaces for, respectively, Turkish and Moroccan seniors.
• Each space has a transitional space and a bridging function to the general and the public spaces.
• Relationships with children and grandchildren appear to be essential. Set up the space in such a manner that contact with family is possible and attractive.

We hope to jointly work out the ideas in further detail in the future.
